   A young girl 29 yrs (PIN L-10346) visited Life Force Homeopathy with complaints of trigeminal neuralgia since 5-7 years. The neuralgia was specifically right sided with excruciating pain. They were electric shock like, lightening pains. The pains would occur almost 100 times a day. They were worst on exposure to drafts of the air, at night disturbing her sleep, by cold air and in the cold weather, by touch and in winters. She was on Tegretol 200 mg 3 times a day, which relieved the pains, but since 1 month there was no relief with Tegretol. She had recurrent tendency to get colds since one year, once every month, each attack would last for 5-6 days, accompanied with white nasal discharge which would be worst by cold drafts of air and changes in weather. She was found to be very sensitive as a person, was dominating and short-tempered. She wanted things to go her way and could not tolerate contradiction. There was a marked craving for spicy food. She was sensitive to cold weather in general and would get chilled easily on least exposure to cold winds. Based on above details, Dr Shah’s research based medicines for trigeminal neuralgia were prescribed for her. In 6 weeks the intensity of the pain had reduced by 40%. The attacks had reduced by 15%. The medicines were continued further. She was continuing the Tegretol alongwith homeopathy. In 2 months the frequency of the neuralgia attacks reduced by 50%. The intensity of pains had reduced drastically. She began with tapering of the Tegretol, reduced it to twice a day for 15 days followed by once a day and stopped it. To her surprise the neuralgia did not get worst. Now she was only on homeopathy. In a period of 6 months, the patient reported her neuralgic pains had 70% relief.
